Our Rides

Road

Committee Leader: Clay Maddox

Road riding is one of the most popular activities. RCC has organized group rides, which create opportunities to socialize with like minded individuals, form new friendships, engage in a healthy activity and to have fun. Group rides provide safety in numbers and you are never left alone on our No-Drop rides. Our ride leaders provide invaluable knowledge and offer advice to improve your cycling experience.

Adult Racing

Committee Leader: Michaelle White

Rose City Cycling and our dedicated sponsors provide financial support for our Adult and Youth Race Teams. Our teams travel all over Texas, showcasing their passion and promoting the city of Tyler and their premier sponsors. You will find RCC members racing Road, Gravel, Triathlon, and MTB.

Gravel

Committee Leader: Ric Van Der Linden

Our gravel riders love the thrill of challenging terrains and scenic backroads exploration. Expand your cycling experience! Come join the fun of riding on a variety of surfaces including asphalt, gravel, dirt. Remember to lift your head up, look around, and enjoy the ride!

Mountain Biking

Committee Leader: Justin Brown

The Rose City Cycling Mountain Bike team will continue to put in countless hours to maintain and improve our trail systems at Faulkner, Lindsey and Blackhawk. Our trails have attracted the attention of promoters and riders from all over. Our Shredders show their passion, skill and style on our trails and would love for you to ride with them.

Juniors

Committee Leader: Andy Kutach

The youth in Tyler are serious about their cycling. They train hard, they race hard and they have fun. Our Youth Racers, grades 8-12, have earned the title of Champions in East Texas for the past two years and are well known in the Texas High School NICA competitions. And, if they don’t want to race, that’s fine, they can spend time riding and having a good time with other youth.

Women

Committee Leader: Kim Tucker

RCC has a passion to promote women in cycling. The club is dedicated to connecting women cyclists through quarterly events, female only rides and messenger pages. The powerful women of RCC stand together shoulder to shoulder, provide encouragement and support. Friendships are made and Crowns are straightened.

Weekly Organized Rides

RCC uses Ride Alert to share upcoming rides. Download Ride Alert app, connect with Strava, and search Tyler for the most up to date ride times and locations. Add your ride to Ride Alert for increased public visibility.

**The road rides occur March – October. Times and Locations are subject to change and additional last minute rides may be added. Watch Ride Alert and RCC Facebook page for updates.

Our Community

Community Liaison Leader: Grant Oepkes

We strongly believe in giving back to our community and community partners. Cyclists volunteer for bike lead outs, pace and provide encouragement to runners participating in the CHRISTUS Halloween Hustle, Jacksonville Jingle Jog, FRESH 15 and more. During the Holiday season we support the Salvation Army by hosting a sock drive for those in need and building bikes to make a child’s Christmas wish come true. This year we are working to offer skills clinics across cycling categories, and promote cycling at local events and trail heads to generate awareness and safety.

RCC provides scholarships for our Youth Race Team to encourage education and trades post high school. RCC works in tandem with the City of Tyler and Tx Dot to support local cycling initiatives and provide education to the community.
